Hello,

My name is Sarah Campbell and I am the Assistant Archivist at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.  I have been asked to find a photograph of the original site of the college founded by Bishop Fenwick in Benedicta Me.  As this is part of our history we would love a copy of any photographs of that area. We are especially interested in photographs that show the foundations of the original building.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Sarah Campbell

Hi Sarah, I don't know if you got any help with this already, but I can put you in contact with a great resource! Richard D. Kelley Jr. put together three great books about the history of Benedicta, ME. rdkellyjr@roadrunner.com He has some great photographs, but the main part of the original structure was removed by1871, and a photograph would be hard to come by. Part of the wings added to the original building existed to 1927 as the rectory and can be seen in some pictures. I have some other resources also if you need something else.
