One of my great grandfathers was Augustine Washington Richardson, born in Kennebec County, Maine in 1830. He moved to Algiers, Orleans Parish, Louisiana where he is found on the 1860 census. There is a family in Kennebec County, Maine on the 1850 census with the father's name as Augustine Richardson (born 1804) and mother Abigail Savage. My Augustine is not listed in the family on this census but by then he was 20 years old and old enough to have already struck out on his own. There is a gap of 6 years between a son, James Richardson, and a daughter, Abby Richardson that would work perfectly for my Augustine (b. 1830). Further, if you look at Augustine (b. 1804) in the 1840 census, there is a son 5-9 years old that isn't accounted for in the 1850 census. Further, Augustine (b. 1830) had a son named Orlando. Augustine (b. 1804) had a son named Orlando. Augustine (b. 1830) was a brick mason. Augustine (b. 1804) was a brick mason. And, finally, I just got my Ancestry DNA results and one of my 4th cousin results links to the James Richardson, son of Augustine (b. 1804). So, this is my family but I can't find any paper trail that confirms it. Or, is what I've got enough? Any and all thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.
