Maine Genealogy Network

Hi, I am new to this network. But, I have been researching my family for about 5 years. I am stuck on Lebarron Shaw's parents. Lebarron seems to have been born in Chester (1831). It lists his father as John Shaw (1787) and his mother as Sally. I have no clue where his father John comes from. There are so many Shaws any help would be appreciated.

Hi Deborah, I have quite a bit of information on the Chester area, and I will try to go through it this evening to see if I can find anything useful to you. I do have some records regarding John & Sally and their children. - Paul
I have John P? Shaw married to Sally Dwelly (Dwelley) and Labaron H Shaw as their youngest child. I believe they came from Springfield across the river to Chester. Sally's father was most likely Allen Dwelley, a war pensioner b. 1762. Labaron married Melvina R Scott 7/20/1860. Labaron (Labarron) is sometimes mistranscribed as Lebanon Shaw. Springfield was lumped in with townships 6 & 7 in the census and the settlement was on the stage line from Lincoln (European & North American RR Station) to Calais. Hope this helps you, good luck! - Paul
Thanks, Paul,

I have him married to Elmira Collins in 1871 when he was about 40. She was 19. Thanks again. Deb
