Wilkinson of Hancock County
I am looking for the parents of Joshua Wilkinson b. about 23 Aug. 1795 in Sullivan or perhaps New Castle, Maine. He married Hannah Johnson (no known date) and had children: Charles about 1827, Harriet Bickford 24 Jan 1830, Hannah about 1832, Daniel about 1835, Joshua B. 3 Aug. 1837, Eleanor Elizabeth 11 Mar 1850 and perhaps others. Joshua died 11 Nov 1867 in Sullivan, Hannah died March 1859.

Here is a page from Sullivan town records which says that Joshua was born 23 Aug. 1795 in Sullivan. I don't believe that his place of birth is correct. I also looked at Sullivan cemetery records and found the following Wilkinsons (among others) buried in Simpson Cemetery:
Luke Wilkinson 1762-1845
Abigail, wife of Luke, 1767-1842
Ruth, dau. of Abigail and Luke, 1791-1865
Joshua, son of Abigail and Luke, 1795-1867
Joseph 1801-1852
Mary, wife of Joseph, no dates
Hannah, wife of Joshua, 1806-1859
Harriet, 1805-
Daniel, 1809-
It appears from census records that Luke Wilkinson was living in New Castle, N. H., in 1790, Portsmouth, N. H., in 1800, and came to Sullivan by 1810. I think it's likely that Joshua was born in Rockingham County, New Hampshire.
I also found in Sullivan records that the marriage intentions of Joshua Wilkinson and Hannah Johnson, both of Sullivan, were published 22 Oct. 1823.
