I am trying to locate and photograph the grave of Joseph B Richards, died 11 Jan 1911, in the Greenwood Cemetery in Beddiford. I have been unable to talk with anyone at the number on the website. Does anyone have access to burials in Greenwood? Appreciate any assistance or direction.

Permalink Reply by Steve Dow on January 10, 2012 at 8:20am MOCA (Maine Old Cemetery Association) has cemetery transcriptions for Greenwood, but I do not see any listing for your Joseph B Richards in it. He may still be buried there, as his death record states, but either was missed by the transcriber, or doesn't have a stone.
Permalink Reply by Charles A Carroll on January 10, 2012 at 10:37am Hi Steve: This has been an intersesting search. Town Clerk had St Joseph (not recorded at cemetery) on her copy of death record, one on line site has Linwood, and another Greenwood. Based on a full column obit I had assumed this was an easy search. A woman I meet at the historical society said she had a more up to date list but disappered before I had a chance to talk with her. Finding someone associated with either cemetery has been a challenge. Thank you for your responce. I appreciate your help.

It is a site where some very nice people will go to a cemetery to find the stone of a person someone has requested be found. They will take a picture of the stone and post it to the appropriate place on the Find A Grave website. I myself have done a few of these and know of people who have done several. It may not happen now with the snow on the ground, but maybe this Spring.
