Permalink Reply by Mary Ellen Aube on January 19, 2012 at 1:42am I have Seavy lines from Scarboro and Saco. Sarah Seavy (d 14Jan1851 at age 88) married (31Jan1782) Solomon Libby (b 1759 -d. 3Mar1832) and he fought in the Revolutionary War. They are buried in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco I believe. She was the daughter of Thomas Seavey of Scarborough.

A sea Captian who bought Seavey's Island in Portsmouth Harbor, 1722 this is the site of the navey ship yard at Kittery Maine his wifes grandfather Thomas Fernald built ships here as early as 1645
had a house in Casno Nova Scotia, 1729
Some source says born aft 1695, of Seavey's Island, Kittery, NH. According to Parsons History of Rye, in 1682 the southern half of the Isles of Shoals was assigned to NH, including Seavey Island; although it appears unlikely that he would have been born on Seavey Island. Apparently the northern islands were part of Kittery, Maine as mentioned about 1700. Since there is apparently no document giving his birth on Seavey Island, I will adopt the current designations: of Rye, Rockingham, NH. they wer sons of Capt William Seavey born 1648 Rye NH died January 31, 1731/32 Rye NH married Hannah Jackson i have more info if your interested
Permalink Reply by Pauline Angevine Matthews on January 19, 2012 at 10:56am Hi Norman, I'm not sure if you received my answer on chat, when you mentioned you had just seen my Uncles, Avery and Ernest Angevine from Bethel, Maine. You mentioned that their mother (Gladys Lombard) was a cousin to your wife's great grandmother. What is your wife's great grandmother's maiden name and married name?
Gladys Lombard's parents were Albert Lombard and Arabella (Belle) Whitney.
I just noticed that you are now a member of Upton Hist. Soc. and saw that you had the Whitney family listed also.
I also have Linnell, Dunham & Fish, Bangs, Hancock & Prescott, Jewell & Guptill, and Gammon names, etc. attached to the Lombards and Whitneys.
Would love to swap info, photos, etc. with you. on some of the families that we have in common.
It's always exciting to find another "cousin".
Thanks for contacting me, Pauline
