My Henry Mackintire/McIntire & a variety of spellings from those days of 1740s first appears in Falmouth's town meeting minutes March 9, 1741. He was appointed with other men as a field driver for the town. (He was appointed to various other positions from then until 1761.)
Henry bought property in Falmouth/New Casco with Benj. Blackstone, Sr. from John Coy's (deceased) daughters in Sept 1743. The Coy sisters lived in Glocester, Essex Co., Massachusetts.
He went to Hampton Falls, NH to marry Mrs. Mary Small on October 18, 1744 by Rev. Joseph Whipple.
He married second Mrs. Sarah (Dodd) Burnell in October 25,1753 in Falmouth, Maine.
We lose sight of Henry in Oct 1787 when his two sons appear in a property document. David seeks release of right to the property from Sarah McIntire (prob. Henry's widow) and Benjamin McIntire, prob. Henry's son.
Henry has been a brick wall for myself, two 5th generation McIntire cousins of the U.S., one in Australia, etc.
If anyone has knowledge of where Mary Small came from that info might give us a lead to Henry's earlier whereabouts.
There are several McIntire books on these subjects: Micum, Phillip, Harry, William. To our disappointment our Henry dares not show his face in those books!
