Hello, Parsons descendants,

Does anyone know the parents of Abigail (Nabby) Parsons, born 20 March, 1785 and who married James Lewis on 7 April 1805 in Kittery?  A record on Family Search calls her the daughter of John Parsons and Molly Wilson, but I have no proof of this.

Thanks,

Elizabeth Martin

I was able to glean the following from the Captain Jotham Parsons (1783-1860), a genealogical biography entry at Google Books:

"Molly's will, dated 7 March 1804, probated 16 September 1805, is in YWA #1 12. John's will, dated 8 January 1818, probated 12 July 1819, is in YWA #510. They had the following children: 49 i. Lydia (1783-1850) 50 ii. Abigail (Nabby) (1785->1850) 51 iii. Mary (Molly) (1790-1868) 52 iv. John (1795-1825)

He married second in York 5 August 1806 Mary (Molly) Simpson, bom in York 24 April 1775, baptized in the 1st Parish Church 30 April 1775, died in Kittery 2 November 1845, daughter of Joseph III and Elizabeth (Bragdon) Simpson. (Joseph Simpson's will, dated 3 June 1809, probated 8 September 1810, is in YWA #246.) John and both wives are buried in the Parsons Plot, Kittery."

Elizabeth Parsons married Charles Stevens of Kittery. They had two daughters and one son. Are they listed in your Parson's Genealogy book? The time was in the early 1800's.
