Maine Genealogy Network

I am researching my g grandfather Alexander Henderson. He immigrated from Ireland in approx 1861 and according to my mother's notes resided in Massachusetts prior to Maine. He married Ann Elizabeth Cripps in 1866 in Linneus. They resided in Houlton after marriage. I can find no record of him prior to the 1870 census.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if this helps but the Roe & Colby Atlas of 1877 shows an Alexander Henderson as a property owner in Linneus (r6 Lot 19) so they may have resided in Linneus. There are still Hendersons living in Linneus.

Thanks for the info Shelley, I know they did reside in Linneus, in fact he is buried at the Baptist Church there. We haven't been able to establish any link with the Hendersons still living in Linneus but I keep trying to find his family and where he was from in Ireland.
