Looking and don't even know where to look. Hubby from Maine... and I am from Hawaii... Dad was a tracker [liked to hunt] [hey outoftowner.......] can anyone help me...

I find it easier to look for the US records because we here at Hawaii are not considered part of the USA...

First you need to educate yourself about HOW to research family history, then you need to use those skills to learn all you can about Dad and his parents and grandparents. Work your way back one generation at a time. You will find them in normal public records as far back as the 1850s. If they were members of a Native community during their lifetime, you will probably find them listed as Indian in U.S.Census and perhaps other records. If they were not part of a Native community, you will need to work much harder, but that comes much later - after you have learned as much as possible about them using common genealogical records.

Please keep in mind - most men that grow up in rural Maine are hunters - it has nothing to do with ancestry.

Good luck

Thank you for your quick response... I do know that about one generation at a time... but after the LOL 5th I kinda get lost with who is who.. and that is true about Rural Maine... I think my hubby is a CITY boy who thinks he is LOL RURAL LOL he is not... He couldn't live with out the fineries of cable... and electric..

LOL now his father was a different man he was the TYPICAL rural MAINE man... like his father etc. oh... here is a good one LOL 4 GENERATIONS of only 1 son...

I have a NOT politically correct LOL comment I tell my hubby. <~~ wife is INSANE... LOL hey  I am from Hawaii but not Hawaiian... thanks again :)
