Here's a puzzler.  This stone says that Ronald C. Pike was born and died in 1901.  His name appears on the obverse of the stone for Etta Lucy Whitman Pike, leading one to think that she was his mother.  Although the inscription for Etta Lucy has no dates, HJ Libby reported her death as 18 Mar 1895.  Her husband, Edward H. Pike, remarried 11 Jun 1899 to Martha Curry Swan.  So something is funny here.  Either the stone has an error in Ronald's birth year (if he is a son of Etta Lucy and Edward Pike, he must have been born in 1895 or earlier), or maybe he is a son of Edward Pike and second wife Martha, and his name was engraved on Etta Lucy's stone simply for convenience.  Can anyone shed any light on this?

Ronald was Martha's son. He was born 20 Sept. 1901 in Woodstock, died there 10 Oct. 1901. Here is his birth record:

And his death record:

Edward and Martha Pike had four children: Eben Francis (1897-1950), Ronald C. (1901-1901), Agnes B. (1903-1987), and Lena Mae (1907-2005).
