Joseph Jackson

Brothers Joseph (b.1752) and Samuel (b. 1754)  Jackson arrived in Jefferson ME (Balltown) from Newcastle (ME ?) (there is also a NewCastle NH)  in 1775.  My mother has traced genealogy from them (their gravestones are in Jefferson) to us....but their parents remain a mystery. Since Joseph is a Junior, we believe the father is Joseph and because each brother has a daughter named Mary, we guess it possible their mother could be Mary.  They may also have another brother named Isaac married to Lucy…See More

The Centennial celebration of the town of Jefferson says that Samuel and Joseph "came from Newcastle and located at what has been known as Jackson's Mills in 1778." Several web sources say they were sons of Joseph and Abigail (Laskey) Jackson of Durham, N. H., though Joseph's 1788 will didn't mention them.
