"Old Man France" - East Orland, Maine

Growing up on the Back Ridge Rd in E Orland, ME, I lived during the 50 &60's with my family of Gross's.  The country farming & millworkers were quite a large world to the 6 year old kid.  My Gramp's (Frank P Gross) owned hundreds of acres between Toddy Pond and "the brook", towards the Front Ridge Road.  Most of it woodlands & blueberry fields.  All that was my play ground, museum, & art lesson.Usually, my day was full of school & rides on the bus with Ralph Lally, the…See More

Cindy, what in particular are you interested in. I do have a bit more information(?? accuracy) on the doctor who delivered me at the infirmary. I am however trying to find more out about the place, about the doctor and some other info. What else specifically are you interested in. I am going on a pilgrimage( details about a pilgrimage are very interesting). Who and is the geneology you are searching, related to you. Are you adopted? I have not had chance to read your other posts. So pardon my ignorance. God Bless. God Bless Egypt and Australia for all their suffering and God Bless the USA!!

I do not have all of the names of Savage Bolton's children.  I do have birthdates for a lot of them that I learned through Martha Ballard's diary.  I do show that he had a son on 4 March 1790 so now I know that Elisha was that son.

Martha Ballard mentions a Studley Springer on 8 Jan. 1785 and that Mrs.  Springer had a daughter on 9 Jan. 1785.  She mentions other Springers in her diary.  If you are not familiar with Mrs. Ballard's diary, you can search it online at http://dohistory.org/.

Hi Cindy.  Sorry to say that I am just beginning my research on Savage Bolton's children and do not have anything on Elisha Bolton yet.  My focus has been on his brother Walter.  Would love to exchange info with you.

Good luck.

Susan

I sometime think that 'write-ups' get the wrong person intertwined in a story. Here is my email phamilton@new.rr.com and I can or share more info more easily via real email.

Example of 'early write-ups' that was thought to be the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Athens, Maine History. Refers to Joseph Dore as an early settler married to oh oh brain death has happened....aka brain farts.....oh Phebe Lord. Phebe was his sister married to Tozier Lord. Joseph was married to Patience Hussey.
