All I currently have is their names and birth dates. Did they die young? Did they marry and have kids? Did they leave Maine? Any help would be appreciated. Their sisters are pretty well documented for the most part, but I can't find anything on them.See More

Rev. Harvey Mitchell

I saw a note on a Rootsweb Family Tree that Sarah Mitchell and Abbie Mitchell, who were sisters and both wives of Sewall Black Cross (son of William Cross and Abigail Lewis) were the daughters of Reverend Harvey Mitchell. The note referenced material from The Illustrated History of Kennebec County, Maine. This is the first source where I have found information on Sarah and Abbie's origins. Does anyone have information on Rev. Harvey Mitchell? Who was his wife? Vital dates? Denomination?See More

Sanders/Saunders Family of Maine

I'm wondering if anyone can help me confirm or disprove a family story. My great-x4-grandfather was Joseph Foster Sanders (1812-1898). My great-grandfather John Sanders Cross (1883-1963) told a story about an aunt Phebe of his. Previously we had thought this was Joseph Sanders' daughter Phebe Ellen Sanders (1844-1932), aka Nellie. But she is almost consistently called Nellie, so now we think maybe he was talking about a different relative named Phebe. In addition, we have a picture of our…See More
