Gathering...

I am happy to say that there will be a big family gathering in Maine this fall!  Everyone who can will be heading to the family homestead and I hope to meet many cousins who I do not know. Between now and then I will be polishing up my genealogy work and hopefully filling in a few blanks, solving a mystery or two. Of course a few extra days added on to the trek to do some research!See More

A nice surprise...

not at all related to Maine but I needed to share...I have a big tree on Ancestry, pay the fee and am working on several branches that go back to Ireland. My paternal grandmother married a nice "maine boy" but really had no family of her own as various disease made her an orphan as a young child. Her inlaws and my grandfather's family in Maine made her one of their own.I have been trying to find more about her paternal Irish immigrant family - a real challenge. Her maternal family was little…See More

It is Official

Israel Davis and his sons Charles, Israel, Jr and John Dresser all have had their service accepted and verified by the DAR - my Cousin officially admitted earlier this month.  Now it will be my turn...

I guess my next adventure will be to find a line on my mother's side - although I figure I will find some loyalists there, perhaps. They originated in the CT area…
