Mayhew

I am looking for any information on John P. Mayhew (born 1881 in Sumner, ME) According to the family, he left before 1915 and was never heard from again. On the 1900 census he was a servant for Charles Chase in Paris, Me. On the 1910 census he lived in Paris and worked in a sawmill. I can find no record of him after that date. Thank you!!

Hi Mary! Thank you so much for the Vital Records you got me from Newry. I have used the Bethel Historical Society for research, but in this case I needed copies of original records. I've gotten certified records from Bethel, Paris and Caribou - they charge $15. Some other towns have given me photo copies from the original had written books. I meant to e-mail you earlier, but must have misplaced your letter.
I was in Maine for a brief visit this past summer. I managed to meet with ten cousins!
Thanks again! Dan

Mary - I really didn't mean to put you to so much trouble! Thank you very much for all your effort!. I had some, but certainly not all, the information you provided. I was really just looking to supplement the information I had with copies of some original documents. Thank you again, I really appreciate your help. Sincerely, Dan P.S. If there is any way I can repay the favor, please let me know.

I am looking for records (birth & death) for Abner Foster, Asa Foster and Eli Foster. I believe Eli was born in Newry in 1802. Asa Foster I believe died there about 1845 and his wife, Anna Bartlett Foster about 1851. Abner Foster left Massachusetts and settled in Newry. I think he died there about 1819. His wife, Lydia Nelson also probably died in Newry, but I don't know when. Thanks for responding. - Dan

Hi Mary, Do you know if any early vital records (births, marriages, deaths) are available from the Town Clerk in Newry? Some of my ancestors were among the first settlers there. They were Fosters and Bartletts. Thanks!
