- Robert Taylor wrote an extensive family history on the Christopher Strout family. George Strout b. 1739, who married Elcy Smith, is the first one mentioned as being born in Cape Elizabeth. He was a sergeant in the Rev. War. He died in Raymond, Maine April 22, 1814.
