Abraham Winslow and Elizabeth Welch

I'm trying to find the parents of this couple married in N. Yarmouth on 12 Feb 1789. Abraham died in Freeport on Feb 1806 when a tree fell on him. Elizabeth was given his widow's pension for his service in the Continental Army, 8th Company, 3rd Massachusetts Regiment . I'm descended from their son Thomas and grandson Amasa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Charles E. Smith & Emma R. Allen

Amanda,

I think that your ancestress is Emma Rebecca Allen (born in Smithfield, Maine) on 7 May 1866--daughter of John Allen & Johanna (Svensen). I know this line because I have profiled both Emma's uncle (Hiram Allen, a Civil War soldier from Fairfield) and Emma's mother (Johanna Svenson, a pre-1900 Swedish immigrant). I am in contact with the descendant of one of their children who is a fellow member of the Fairfield Historical Society. Right now I am on my way out but will get… Continue

Charles E Smith and Emma R. Allen were married around 1884 +- in the Kennebec Maine area. I am able to trace Emma Allen to John E Allen - Baranabas Allen - Ebenezer Allen (All from Fairfield, ME). But, I am having trouble finding anything on Charles E Smith. I cannot seem to located the name of his mother or father. All I can find is a census that lists Emma as his wife and Emery (my ancestor) as his son.Does anybody have any suggestions?

Amasa & Betsey Winslow

I'm looking for Betsey's maiden name. She and Amasa were married 2 Jan 1848.
Amasa was born in Freeport on 4 Oct 1823 to Thomas Winslow and Esther Clough.
Betsey appears on the 1870 federal census, but a 2nd wife Addie A. appears on the 1880 census.
