I don't know how this works so this is the first time on here. I am looking for information about the above lady, Etta Y. Phynex Mitchell or her husband Amansel Mitchill. She was one of the first Police Matrons of Lewiston, Maine. She died in 1930. She was an amazing woman and she is my great great grandmother. She was involved with helping the poor, finding orphans homes and helped in starting the first children's home of Lewiston and Auburn. I know there are many articles in the Sun Journal about her finding homes for the poor parentless children but I have not gotten to researching them. Please email me with any information at msjudith45@peoplepc.com. If you would like more information I have lots of family information I can share. I would like to honor her memory and document as much of her life as possible. Thank you sincerely for helping if you can. It means a lot to me and my family. Judith
