The Lewiston Daily Sun obituary of Floyd Elliott Coolidge, who died 14 Nov. 1960 in Bethel, Maine:

Floyd (Jim) Elliott Coolidge, of Northwest Bethel, died early Monday morning at his home. He had been ill for about a year.


He was born in Newry, April 12, 1898, the son of Wallace Edgar and Reather Powers Coolidge. The family moved to Bethel when he was five. He has been been employed as a woodsman and farmer. Until his illness he worked at the Hanover Dowel Company in Bethel.


Survivors include widow, the former Joan Skillings; two sons, Elton of Bethel, Stanley of Auburn; four brothers, all of Bethel, Wallace, Lester, Almon, and Leland; two sisters, Mrs. Sybil Farrar, and Mrs. Mae Dunham, both of Locke Mills; an uncle, Hollis Coolidge, of Gorham, N.H.; seven grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.


Funeral services were held at the Greenleaf funeral home this Thursday afternoon, Rev. Richard Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
