I am looking for information on a Mary Fickett born roughly 1815 (died after 1870) who married a Levi Campbell in Calais Maine.  I found their intent to marry which said her family was from Perry Maine but nothing more than that.  Does anyone have information on a Mary Fickett?  Some family members that I have spoken to have suggested that she could possibly be an Indian.

Ephraim and Lydia Fickett lived in Perry in 1820 and 1830, and appear on the same page of the 1850 census as Levi and Mary Campbell. Though their family record in Perry town records gives them only daughters Unis (Eunice) and Nancy, the censuses indicate that another girl lived with them in 1820 and 1830, of the right age to be Mary.

This family tree says that Ephraim and Lydia had a daughter named Mary who married Ethan Allen Sprague, but in their marriage record his bride is called "Miss Mary Rogers." (Ethan's brother Joseph does appear to have married Eunice, daughter of Ephraim and Lydia (Trott) Fickett.) I suspect that Ephraim and Lydia did have a daughter Mary, but that she married Levi Campbell.

Thank you for the information.  I suspect that Mary is adopted or native american because I cannot locate a irth certificate.  I found your group on native american ancestors so I plan to try to do some more research
