Hi Shaun,
I found some more information on the parents of Charles M. Cobb, and visited their graves recently.
Here's the only known photo of them: http://x.co/Y4fW and here's a link to a photo of their grave site: http://x.co/Y4g5 They are buried at the New Gloucester Pond Cemetery, New Gloucester, Maine.
Chipman Cobb (15 Sep 1819 - 4 Sep 1900) was born in Otisfield, Cumberland County, Maine. He married his wife, Eunice A. Tripp (Sep 1825 - 1915) in about 1841.
The 1900 census of Gray, Maine lists Eunice as "Mother of how many children: 14; Number of those children living: 9". I can't find any other information about Euncie A. Tripp Cobb, though. I believe she is Native American, since Charles M. was "half Indian". I'm assuming Wabanaki?
Chipman is a Civil War veteran, enlisting in Company G, Maine 14th Infantry Regiment on December 12, 1861. Discharged: January 13, 1864.
I found information on rootsweb for Chipman's ancestors going back seven more generations to Henry Cobb born in Kent, England in 1605. Here's the link: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cobb/hen/d0004/g0...
Here are a couple of photos of Charles in 1864 or 65 as a Private, Company C, Maine 32nd Infantry Regiment http://x.co/Y4gl http://x.co/Y4gb
Do you have any other Cobb or Tripp information or any photographs of Cobbs?
