I'm trying to link Harriet C. Bean with her parents. She was born on December 22, 1832 and died on January 8, 1885. She married Simeon F. Brown and had two daughters, Isabella C. (1857) and Phebe Kimball Brown(1861) before Simeon died during the Civil War. After her husband died, she is found in the 1870 census living with Ira & Georgianna Bean and a Rebecca Bean (the right age to be Rebecca Gossom - Ira's mother). Ira is the son of Vier Bean. Vier was married twice. It make sense that Harriet would be living with her brother & step-mother (she is too old to be a full sister to Vier). By 1880, she is living on her own. Does anyone know of any documentation that places Harriet as a daughter of Vier (Vear) Brown and his first wife? Thanks for any hints and suggestions you might have. ~ Pam

Good question. The only reference I've found to Vier Bean's first wife is this death record for Hannah (Bean) Hancock, which says that she was born in Bethel to Vear and Mary Bean in 1825.
