Knowltons of Aroostook and later Caribou.

After quite a few years, I find myself still trying to discover the parents of Ansell Knowlton (b 1815 in Aroostook ME). It appears he's of English ancestry and had an older brother named Anson. Any idea how to take a look a the 1790 census or get a look at birth records for that time? I highly suspect that their father was from Dorset England and may have been involved in military action during the 1812 campaigns.

Hello, my name is Austin Leroy Knowlton and the Anson Knowlton you are referring to of Limestone and later Caribou was my great, great, great grandfather. He had a son named Emery Peabody Knowlton. He is not the Anson/Ansell of Warren I know that for a fact. He may have had a brother named Ansell, my apologies I'm doing this from memory of a family bible and other records that were compiled by my great aunt that I viewed as a teenager and I'm 48 now.
