I am very excited to report that Maine Vital Records, 1670-1907, may now be viewed and searched at FamilySearch.

Records are organized alphabetically, then chronologically within a name. The collection is divided into three parts, Vital Records Prior to 1892, 80 towns, Vital Records, 1892-1907, and Delayed returns for births, deaths, and marriages, 1670-1891. At present, only the 1892-1907 vital records have been indexed.

All of the available records may be browsed here.

1892-1907 marriage records (and sometimes death records) have information on the reverse side of the card, so be sure to check the images before and after to make sure you have all the information.

Note that these are just births, marriages and deaths reported to the state. Many of these events prior to 1892 were never reported to Augusta, but may be found in the original and microfilmed records of the various towns and cities.

Maine vital records through 1922 are available at Ancestry.com.
