Hello all, I am a newbie and do not know the first thing about Maine.

Found out that my granduncle Robert Healy and his wife Marie are buried in the East Mercer Cemetery.

Robert was born 19 May 1895 in Mallow Co,Cork Ireland and his wife Marie (surname still unknown) was born 7 January 1893 in Finland.

Robert died in Mercer in August 1965 according the the SSDI and Marie died 6 September 1964 in Skowhegan.  No idea how far Skowhegan is from the cemetery were they are buried,

The family moved from Harrison, Westchester NY to Mercer sometime after 1930, they had a daughter Dorothy Mary Healy born May 1925 in Harrison.

When looking at the gravestone picture on Findagrave I noticed someone left an artificial flower there so there must be descendants out there somewhere, I have no idea what became of the daughter.

But I reckon it was the daughter that had the gravestone made for her parents in 1964 and 1965

Can anyone please advise if it is possible to find out more about this family in the time they lived there?

If you search for Robert Healy here, you'll find an abstracted excerpt from his will which mentions daughter Dorothy M. Galgano and son-in-law Andrew L. Galgano. They sold the land that they inherited in 1966 while residents of White Plains, New York.

Really ? That is absolutely fabulous, thanks a million Chris

Chris, I found some great and very useful information thanks to your reply, just wanted to say thanks once again.
