Chris, I noticed the picture of Lemuel Dunham. I have one like it [Taken by Swan of Norway.] I also have one of him, Lydia and Elvira. All "look like' charcoal drawings. They are 14"X18".Do you know when the one by Swan was taken?

I also have a picture of Lemuel,Lydia,Elton,Mabel,Elsie,Netta,and Clyde.Lemuel and Lydia are seated.Elsie is sitting in Lydia's lap ,Clyde is seated on Lemuels lap. Elton and Mabel are standing behind them with Netta between them.I also have an authgraph book that belonged to Lydia Dunham .Dates range from 1888 to 1896,signed by Lemuel,Carrie,E.B.D.[Lemuel's daughter] ,Lydia Swan and others.There is a framed print of a little girl that inscribed on the back by Lydia Dunham to Her grand-daughter Lydia on her 12th birthday. She was born in 1887.It is over 100 yrs. old.

Is the Swan photo of Lemuel you have identical to the one I posted?

It looks like John Wesley Swan lived and worked in Norway in the late 1890s, possibly earlier. His studio burned in January 1900, and by 1903 he was living in Montreal, Quebec.

Do you have scans or digital photos of these portraits you'd be willing to share? I would love to see them and share them with my dad.

How wonderful that you have Lydia's autograph book! I hope you've seen the scans of Elton's books that I uploaded to the site last year:

The Swan photo appears to be the same as you posted. I don't have scans or digital photos.I would be willing to share .Perhaps we can get together and you can photo them.
