I'll check this site once a day......Hope I can help you out some. My memory has gotten a little rusty with age. :) Smiles
All I have for the Newell family is this...
(my grandmother) Shirley Caroline Boothby Johnson born on 12-20-1928 and died 2-26-1979 and she married Theodore Johnson
(my great grandmother) Lydia B. Newell Boothby born 1900 and died 11-29-1962 and she married Everett Charles Boothby
(my great-great grandfather) Sockalexis Newell born 8-15-1874 and died 5-6-1952
I am not sure if this correct, but I found somewhere that Sockalexis father was Loren Newell... If you can provide any other information that would TOTALLY be appreciated... If you want I will provide my email if that would be it easier.
and yes Loren is Sockalexis's father. Ne Do ba has tons of info
hi all! :)

Hi, I came across this while doing research awhile back.. it is a direct link to the article about Sockalexis Newell that you wrote about Troy Jordan. Hope this will help out some of the folks researching this man.

Great find Nancy! Thanks for sharing this.
There is a good deal about him in Greenwood Town reports and some children are recorded in the Greenwood and Woodstock records. He was Born in Greenwood on Crazy knoll
Loren Newell is correct died at Buckfield Maine
I have to say the records are all over the place with this ancestor. I found 2 1880 census records, one listing a 5 year old Sockalexis, parents Loren and Jane Newell enumerated in Old Town; the other has a 3 year old "Soc", parents Lorin and Susan in Cambridge, Somerset, ME. The birth records of daughter Hilda, lists his birthplace as Denmark, ME., A death record for son, Irvine lists his birthplace in Old Town. His marriage record in Denmark says he was born in Squaw Bridge NH. My father-in-law (his grandson) has always contended he was from Old Town. As far as the subsequent census records, we can be pretty positive he lived in Greenwood & Woodstock after 1900.
