Stewart family

My great, great grandfather was Samuel Stewart from England or Scotland.  He married Mary A. Broderick from Ireland.  They had two sons; Robert E. who was my great grandfather, & Samuel Jr.  I know there are Stewart relatives in Maine but I have no information about them.  If any of the Stewart clan reads this, I would appreciate a reply.  Thanks!

hello my name is Kristin, I was put up for adoption in the state of Michigan.  My stewarts so far the earliest I got back was to Robert Edward Stewart, who in the 1910 Census was in Denver Colorado.  He married my paternal great grand mother her name was Ida.  On the 1910 Census he stated he and his father were both born in Maine abt. 1873.  As for his mothers birth it says United States.  I cant seem to find him in any earlier census reports.  he did have 4 children with him, I do have their names and am awaiting the marriage application and record from Denver Colorado public library. Any help to connecting this person with his parents and any siblings and down lines would be appreciated.  Feel free to drop me an email at

I am helping my friend research his ancestry and his grandmother was Emma Isabelle Stewart of Lewiston, Maine, 1890-1911. She married Winfield Wood and they had one child, a son, Kenneth Wood. My friend Brian is Kenneth's son. On her father Richard's side (1857-?) we have his parents as Robert O Stewart 1831-1909) and Jane Holland, 1832-1904. Does anyone know more about her parents, John 1811-? and mother unknown? Robert O Stewarts parents were Robert Stewart, 1784-? and Isabel Agnew 1798-after 1881. From our research. Can anyone add info, have photos? Emma%20Wood%20head%20and%20shoulders.jpg

That is interesting.  I am a Foster by merriage, but I am interested in the Foster family for my children.  The problem with this is that their Grandfather will not say anything about his family or where they are from.  He says he was adopted by a family here in Brewer Maine and was bassically abandoned by his own Mother and Father.  I sure would aleast like to know who they were so that the family line can be traced back.  So let me know how you search goes and if you come across any family members here in Brewer, Maine.  I think his parents were from Massachusetts however and I don't know how he got from there to Brewer.
