No, I have no other information on Jacob. He appears in Oxford County in 1805, and then quickly disappears.

Building on what Ben has told you, Jacob Dalrymple was a resident of Bethel when he married, 2 June 1805, Sarah "Sally" Grover of Bethel. Sarah was born 9 Nov. 1785, the daughter of Joseph and Jerusha (Wiley) Grover. (Her birth was recorded in both Mercer, Maine, and in Bethel.) Sarah married second, 19 Mar. 1808, Otis Grover, and married third, 19 Mar. 1858 in Woodstock, Maine, Samuel Bryant (my great-great-great-grandfather).

Jacob and Sarah's son Otis Grover Dalrymple was born 24 Sept. 1805, and married 16 June 1825 in Bethel Polly Stiles, daughter of Ezra and Hannah (Cutter) Stiles, born 11 Aug. 1793.

Here is a book you can google search that may help fill in some blank spaces.

History of Bethel, formerly Sudbury, Canada, Oxford County, Maine, 1768-1890 : with a brief sketch of Hanover and family statis

I don't have a source at the moment for researching back that far. You could try footnote.com for old records or genealogy.com for old newspapers, both pay sites. and you could always try the search tab at the top of the page. Putting all this info together in a blog could always excite someone who is related and start who knows what?

Now you have the tough part, I can tell you that based on multiple ancestry trees, his (Otis born 1805, Bethel, Maine) parents were Jacob Dalrymple (1782-1806) and Sarah (b1785) unknown death (Bethel, Cumberland, Maine) I saw no real records to support this? But it should get you closer to you goal of an Scottish ancestry? Ben

Be careful what you wish for.

Well I don't have Jason's Birth record, I know from census records that his father was Gardiner W Dalrymple a Civil war veteran. Hope this helps get you on the right track.
