Thanks for your compliment on my site - yes, I design all my own sites. I was working as a web designer and recently rid myself of all my clients to devote time to my other businesses. This site is my guilty pleasure, I've found it very rewarding to work on it; what you see is the result of several years of research and tapping into the research of other family members. Good luck in your pursuits!

Hi Irene,

Thanks for the tip on the Cates family. The Cates I'm researching are mostly from the Machias and Rockland area.

Your web site is really nice! Did you design it yourself?

Hi Irene,
My Atwood connection is only to Apphia Atwood [1713-1792] who married Deacon Isaac Snow of Truro, Apphia and Isaac "came to Brunswick [ME] about 1734 and settled at Harpswell on Sebascodigan Island. Apphia was the daughter of Prudence [Harding] and Malchiel Atwood of Eastham, MA. Don't know of any Somerset County Atwoods that would be closely related. On the other hand, I have lots of ancestors in Cornville, Somerset County.--Foggs, Smiths, Flanders, etc.
Thanks for sharing your information.

Thanks, Irene, for wanting to help ... that's one of the nice things about this ancestry business isn't it!! I'm afraid that the Spaldings you have are way distant from the branches I seek. But thank you so much. Happy New Year!
