Someone just did a bunch of corrections of that side of my family (my "German" part of my family). I recall a couple of Samuels in there, but will have to go to my tree and fix some things first. That part of my family seems to pretty much be all over that area... Waldoboro, Bremen, Edgecomb, blah blah that seems to cover the Lincoln Co. area along the coast mostly.
Hi James, thanks for the message! I would like to see where we are connected on this bizarre Cunningham family tree. Here is my tree back to Samuel Sr.
Samuel Cunningham & Eunice Day
Samuel Cunningham Jr & Eliza Vannah
Robert Cunningham & Martha Clough
Albert Cunningham & Ida Waltz
George Cunningham & Grace Weaver
Vera Cunningham & Gilbert Phaneuf
Claire Phanuef & Ronald Soucy
Claire is my mother.....
So I have been stuck on Samuel Sr and Eunice Day. There is a headstone in Comery cemetery in Waldoboro for a Samuel that died in 1836. His pension request states he died Oct 5, but the headstone reads Dec 5 of the same year. The stone next to him says Catharine Cunninham his wife. I have feverishly researched if this could be some other Samuel but cannot find anything in Waldoboro or the area of a Samuel dying at that date. My other thought is that Eunice had Catharine as part of her name too. I don't know.
I also did find in ancestry.com that he may have come from Spencer Mass. Not sure on the validity of that.
Anyway, I would live to share info and try to solve this mystery....it's driving me crazy...lol
Yes, Newcastle and some towns nearby. My GG Grandmother was Grace Cunningham who married Orrin Elisha Creamer. Grace's father was Hutchings, then Charles, then Thomas, all from Newcastle/Edgecomb area. My maternal grandmother was a Waltz from Bremen/Waldoboro. The Cunninghams are her family. (her mother's mother was Grace.)

I have some Day family members also, but that is a bit earlier in my tree on the other side of the family.

Do you know what areas the Cunningham part of your family is from? I have some Cunninghams in my family as well.
