just reset my password for this site.....

not a good excuse, I know!!

I finally got around to working on my sister Carol's research. I'm on the 9th generation now [Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandparents]. Recently found out about the Clement Moody thing (Scottish POW). Did some digging and think I may be descended from 6 of those POW's.

Was impressed enough to go to Ancestry and have my DNA tested, and, surprise, surprise, I'm exactly who I thought I was: mostly British, with some Irish and German thrown in [and of course some Scandinavian blood from those Norse pillagers and marauders]. The test showed that I belong to one genetic community: "Settlers of Maine" which is a subset of "Settlers of Colonial New England" - no surprise there either!

Are they still having Moody reunions? My son is starting to get interested in genealogy and history and I'd like to ask him to drive up to Nobleboro sometime.

Hi,  For those working on the Hilton family -- there is a piece of property in the town of Solon that was reputed to be a Revolutionary land grant to a man named Hilton.  It is on the Kennebec River, south of the town.  Went there many years ago, and was impressed with the beautiful location.   Gook luck!   Contact back to me if you wish, I'll try to see if my memory can come up with anything else!

I am decendant from William who was another son of Mary Lord and Ebenezer Hilton. I am new at this site, but I am looking for information.

Can we compare notes?

Well, you are searching a few of the families I"m searching. I don't think our HIlton line is the same line though. The Hilton line I"m searching comes from William (1) William (2) Mainwaring (3)  Ebenezer (4) and down through Ebenezer's children. Ebenezer was married to Mary Lord. Is this the same Hilton line?  One of Ebenezer and Mary's sons, Ebenezer II, married Anna Sawyer of Falmouth.
