In recent years FamilySearch has added two essential Maine Civil War resources to its website: the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors Card Index, 1861-1865, and a collection of images of enlistment and muster rolls for Maine regiments. Hello,
I am looking for the family of my 3rd great grandmother, Betsy Young Wilson. She was born around 1800, married Edmund Wilson as his 3rd wife in 1819 in Boothbay, bore 7 children, and died around 1840. One source states she is from Newcastle, another from Bristol. These sources also state that her sister Mary married her oldest stepson, Ira Wilson. I found some Youngs who were in Bristol around that time, several brothers who might be her father, but have only seen children…
