I’ve been chasing information on John Alexander of Dresden, Maine, for a number of years now. I kept asking folks about where the meetinghouse burial ground might have been because there was a deed1 that mentioned it. I assumed that might be where John and his wife, Susannah Reed, were buried. I just kept running into walls but on actual wall in the Pownalborough Courthouse is a map denoting the cemeteries of Dresden.

This coming Saturday September 14. 2019 in the Martin Cemetery in Greenwood there will be an installation ceremony of a gravestone honoring James C Shedd a member of the 5th Maine Infantry who died in the Civil War. So what's in a name.....as it turns out a lot when it comes to researching the family history of the Sidelingers and Sidelinkers. The sidelinkers run through my wife's side of the family and for years it had been a nightmare trying to track down the family roots. Than one day I came upon a piece a professional genealogy researcher had done on the Sidelinkers - as it turns out they were Sidelingers long before they became Sidelinkers.
