Elizabeth Littlefield, wife of Lemuel Weeks Crabtree

Elizabeth Littlefield is said to have married Lemuel Weeks Crabtree 31 January 1805. Intentions were recorded 2 October 1804 in Gouldsboro, at which time Lemuel Crabtree was living in Sullivan. He is said to have been born in 1784 and to have died in 1837.


Elizabeth Littlefield Crabtree is said to have been born 17 March 1782 and to have died Hancock, ME,  9 February 1872. I suspect that these dates come from her gravestone, which I haven't located. The death certificate of…

"Old Man France" - East Orland, Maine

Growing up on the Back Ridge Rd in E Orland, ME, I lived during the 50 &60's with my family of Gross's.  The country farming & millworkers were quite a large world to the 6 year old kid.  My Gramp's (Frank P Gross) owned hundreds of acres between Toddy Pond and "the brook", towards the Front Ridge Road.  Most of it woodlands & blueberry fields.  All that was my play ground, museum, & art lesson.
