One of my long standing brick walls is my gr. gr. gr. Grandmother Abbie Gilpatrick.  I know that she married Hosea Cook of Waterboro in 1862. I have not found a record of marriage but they filed an intention in Waterboro dated October 10, 1862. That marriage intention states that Abbie was of Waterboro but born in NH. Trees on ancestry state that they married in Dec. 1862 in Parsonsfield but no sources. Abbie and Hosea are found in the 1870 fed. census in Waterboro both listed as being born about 1836. Hosea is listed as widowed in the 1880 fed. census of Waterboro, so Abbie died sometime with in that 10 year span. I have found no death record. They had at least one child Annie born about 1869. She married Charles W Gerry of Waterboro in 1886 they had 13 children. Their son Garredd was my gr Grandfather.                                                                In the 1860 fed census of Waterboro I found an Abigail Gilpatrick born 1844, Daughter of John C Gilpatrick and Abigail(Bond) Gilpatrick. This same family is found in Effingham NH in 1850. (On daughter Annies 2nd marriage record Abbie is listed as being born in Effingham). This family is the closest I have come up with as to who Abbie was but cant find any solid evidence either way! Family lore was always that Abbie was 1/2 Native American, but it would not be the first time "family lore" turned out to have facts prove it a myth.  I would love to hear any thought, opinions and ideas!
