Know all men by these presents That I Lemuel Dunham of Hartford in the County of Oxford and State of Maine am held and firmly bound to Charles Dunham of Hartford aforesaid in the sum of One thousand Dollars to be paid to said Charles Dunham his attorney executors administrators or assigns, for which payment well and truly to be made I bind myself my heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents
The condition of this obligation is such that if said Lemuel Dunham his executors administrators or assigns shall during the natural life of the said Charles Dunham and Betsey Dunham a Sister of said Charles Dunham suitably support and maintain the said Charles Dunham and Betsey Dunham and provide them with suitable clothes food drink medicine and nursing, and all other things necessary for their comfort in the house of said Lemuel Dunham, then this obligation shall be void otherwise the same shall remain in full force and virtue
It is also provided that the said Lemuel Dunham shall keep for the said Charles Dunham a horse and carriage free of any expense to the said Charles Dunham during the natural life of the said Charles or so long as he requests the said Lemuel so to do, the said Charles owning the horse and carriage
In testimony whereof I the said Lemuel Dunham have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven.
