Genealogy in Ledgers topic of May 1st meeting in Brunswick, ME

The May meeting of the Pejepscot Genealogy Society will be held on the second floor of Brunswick's Curtis Memorial Library at 2:00 pm.   Hubbard Goodrich of Harpswell will show us how to find hidden genealogy in ledgers.

Hubbard has been doing research on the commerce (exchanges of goods) in Colonial America prior to 1790. Who would think of looking in old ledgers for genealogy information?

Anyone who has ledgers, especially those used prior to 1790, is invited to bring them for inspection.

If you're not familiar with the Pejepscot Genealogy Society, a chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society, I invite you to visit http://www.pejepscotgenealogy.org for more information.
