Geneva Wallace & Richard Lockwood

Hello ... my first attempt at blogging.

Am looking for birth, death, marriage records for LOCKWOOD, Richard Warren. He was born to Geneva (nice name!) WALLACE possibly on 14 March 1908, in Orono, Penobscot county. Family, or LOCKWOOD only, eventually moved to the Buffalo, New York area.

Also, any information on Geneva WALLACE would be most welcome.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

(McFarlane) Wallace, b. abt. 1887 in Orono, married 2 Mar. 1907 in Springfield, Massachusetts, Albert H. Bennet, son of Henry E. and Helen G. (Keyes) Bennett, b. abt. 1883 in Chicopee Falls, Mass. You'll find an image of the marriage record on this page.

Richard H. Bennett, aged 2 yrs., b. in Maine, was living with his mother and her parents in Bangor in 1910. Geneva was still married, but living without her husband.

You should be able to obtain a birth record for Richard from the Maine State Archives ($7 for an uncertified copy).

Comment by David Roelen on July 5, 2010 at 5:02pm: Man, that was quick! Thank you, Chris. I now must try to reconcile the Richard H. Bennett and Richard Warren Lockwood names. My mother was Louise Kuehnemund who married Richard Warren Lockwood (AKA Richard H. Bennett, apparently) in West Virginia, as you provided in your post. Her son, my brother, was named Richard Wallace Lockwood (Roelen). Geneva Wallace must have later re-married a Lockwood.

I will contact the Maine State Archives as you suggest.
