Harding family from Bucksport, Sedgewick, Blue Hill area's (Hardin, Harden)

My husband's great grandfather, John Robertson Harding, son of Foster Harding came west to Lincoln County in Washington State in the mid to late 1800's and homesteaded on Crab Creek. I am looking for information on his father Foster Harding and Mother Ann Robertson Harding. Foster is listed as a steam boat pilot or mariner on the census'. Foster's father was David Harding and mother Rhode Flowers. I know that other than John R. Harding the family stayed in Maine and are sometimes listed as Hardin or Harden.

I would love to find more documentation on John's parents and siblings.

I do have it our entire Harding side is buried in the Macabee Cemetery in Sprague, WA not far from John R.s farm that is still being farmed by his great great grandsons. If you are interested I can send you a story about his trip to the west that was printed in a book called the Big Bend Story.

I just found this chain about the Harding/Robertson family in Maine.  It's a line I've been following for years and have come up hard against a brick wall with Ann Robertson's father.  By now you've probably read in Ben York's suggestion about the book by Candage on Blue Hill.  Here is a picture of the Foster Harding house, supposedly built by Ann's father, Robert Hugh Robertson about 1830.  It's probably the house where John Robertson Harding was born.  It's no longer standing.  I don't know who the people in the picture are but I would guesstimate the date sometime in the 1870-80's.  If your research has turned up any information about Robert Hugh Robertson before his marriage to Jane Richardson, would you share?

Many thanks.
