I am look for anyone that can help me with find my great grandmothers family. Her maiden name is Alley and her first name is Louise.
I see that Louise E. Alley and Leon l. Tate married 4 Dec. 1912. They were living in Ellsworth as late as 1940. Louise seems to have been born 15 Dec. 1894, died 7 June 1982 in Portland.
She appears to have been the stepdaughter of Everard C. Young of Surry, the daughter of his wife Etta C. (Haslam) Alley. Etta C. (Haslam) Alley and previous husband Llewellyn P. Alley had divorced in 1899 in Hancock County, Maine. The court record may be viewed here (you might have to log in or create a FamilySearch account to view it). It says that Llewellyn was divorcing Etta on the ground of desertion; that they had married 17 Apr. 1887 in Waltham, Maine; that they had lived in Ellsworth until she deserted him on 23 Nov. 1893; and that they had four legitimate children: Alice J., 12, Franklin P., 11, Blanch M., 9, and Rosa E., 7. Custody of these four children was granted to Llewellyn, while custody of two other children, Louise E. and Lura H., was granted to Etta. It would seem that these last two children were born well after the date of desertion, and were not fathered by Llewellyn.
Possible birth of Louise Alley from the Bar Harbor Record, 16 Jan 1895.
Marriage record of Louise and Leon
Reason for leaving? Bar harbor Record, Oct 17,1894.
