I'm having the hardest time finding a record proving that Almira C Bartlett , born 1824 Bethel Maine area, is the daughter of Tilden Bartlett (son of patriot Josiah Bartlett who moved to Norway Maine from Plymouth). I have found birth, marriage and death on siblings which state that Tilden is father and Elizabeth Buck of Bucksfield is parents. Almira married Alfred G Harris and I have found her lowell mass marriage vital and Norwood death, but parents are not listed. Census from Bethel under head of household Tilden Bartlett only show age of children-no names. All Historical writings such as History of Norway Maine, Hamlins Grove, Woodstock records give mention to Tilden, but no source is naming Almira as the daughter. Family Trees on line show Almira as daughter of Tilden.
I have been told DAR is much stricter now than in past. Does anyone have any SUGGESTIONS?. Thanks to W Chapman in Woodstock who helped me as best he could.

The History of Bethel does list Almira as Tilden's daughter. I have not found her birth recorded in any local town, so the author might have relied on a record kept by one of her siblings who remained in the area.
Does Buckfield have birth records to 1824. Almira's mother Elizabeth Buck is from there and a sibling was born there.
Buckfield vital records are here. The family record of John and Abigail (Irish) Buck is on the first page.
Thanks so much for the info. Appreciate it.. I checked known places-Woodstock, Bethel,, Recently Paris Me too. no luck. Almira died in Norwood Mass 1890 and I have asked Mass Vitals to look into book to see if her parents are listed on Death record.(Bartlett does appear in the info.).She is buried in "The Old Went worth Cemetery, NH according to my Dad's records. Of course, she s not on Find-A-Grave. If you know of genealogist for hire in that area that would go take a photo at her grave and spouse Alfred G Harris., let me know..
