I am looking for any of the poetry or songs written by James Milee, also known as James Millea (great great grandfather of Edna St. Vincent Millay). James lived from 1755-1816. He came to Maine at the age of 14 and lived in Harpswell and later Bowdoinham. He was well-loved for his verses which took on political as well as personal subject matter, including the "Power of Tyranny" and the "Triumph of Liberty." His songs and jingles were apparently widely sung in Maine and people reportedly recited his verses at public gatherings. His wife was Abigail Eastman famous for her physical strength and her sharp tongue. Any verifiable quotes would be gratefully acknowledged in a new exhibit at Steepletop, Edna Millay's home, now a historic house museum.  Thanks.
