Llewellyn P. and Martha I. (McClellan) Knapp's 50th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn Knapp of Houlton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturay, April 17, at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Farrar in Amity.


A turkey dinner was served to [?]0 members of the family and open house was observed in the evening. The anniversary cake was made by their daughter, Mrs. Frederick Drinkwater of Longmeadow, Mass.


Mr. and Mrs. Knapp were married in Everett, Mass., April 13, 1904 by Rev. G. G. Washburn. Mr. Knapp is a retired potato grower and has lived in Amity most of his life until his retirement in 1945. Mrs. Knapp is a housewife.


The couple have five daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Farrar of Amity, Mrs. Frederick Drinkwater of Longmeadow, Mass., Mrs. Merle Dwyer of Orient, Mrs. Robert Stewart of Springfield, Mass., and Mrs. Bernard Webb of Houlton, one grandson, QMC C, Earl Dwyer, of the U. S. Navy, who is presently stationed in Japan with his wife and daughter.


Others present besides the daughters included 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
