I am looking for any persons who have Mulligan relations in the Island Falls, Crystal, Haynesville (Aroostook County) area. I'm having a lot of problems with my great-grandfather Melvin M. Mulligan. He died approx. 1923 (per family lore, in a lumbering accident,) however, I cannot find anything on Ancestry.com regarding his birth, supposedly New Hampshire, or death. He was married to Rose Glidden and had several children, one of whom is my maternal grandmother. Any help?

Ben, you're a genius! Don't know how you found the actual record (I looked in Historical Documents on Ancestry until I was almost blind) but I'm so grateful you did. Now.......how do I transfer it to my gr-grandfather's account on Ancestry.com? Also, fingers & toes crossed, have you any documentation of his birth and death? On my Tree I was only able to guess at his DOD because he was in the 1920 census, but not the 1930. And when I transferred to Gr-grandmother Rose Glidden Lyons Mulligan, I found in the 1930 census a new last name for her and a child, Albertine, who was 5 years old. So, figuring she was born 1925 and giving my gr-grandmother time to be courted and then pregnant, I came up with 1923. This is strictly a guesstimate on my part. Per family lore, he was killed in a lumbering accident, but no death certificate.
Between 1922 & 1960, you'll have a tough time trying to find an actual death record in Maine unless you go there. I did look for an obituary on Newspaper Archive.com and genealogybank.com, but came up with nothing. You should be able to do a clean (not through your family tree) search for Melvin Mulligan Marriage 1899 and then save to your tree. I did not find any birth or death record however the 1900 census should have an month and year, not always correct on the year? I believe there is an actual WW1 Draft record for him that has his Birth date 4 Mar 1874 and Rose Mulligan (wife) is listed as Contact for him.
