8/19/1916-The news of the death of A.E. Chase of Brooks, in Portland, Thursday forenoon, was received with great regret by Belfast friends. Mr Chase was one of the most prominent business men of the progressive little town of Brooks; senior member of the A.E. Chase company, and a prominent Democrat. He had not been in good health for sometime, but died suddenly while on a business trip to Portland, on Thursday. He was very well known in Portland, and was frequently here on business.
8/18/1916-In Hampden Highlands, Aug. 16, death of Mrs Mary Adelaide Melcher, wife of W.K. Melcher, aged 50 years.
8/18/1916-In North Dixmont-Aug 13-Amos T. Morse, aged 83 years.
8/18/1916-In Green River, New Brunswick-Aug 14-Louis Plourde, aged 80 years.
8/17/1916-Burnham-The death of John Sayward, a lifelong resident of East Burnham, occurred at his home on Thursday after a long period of ill health, at the age of 71 years. He is survived by a widow and two daughters, Mrs Littlefield of Monroe, and Mrs Ara Murray of Burnham, and one son Edward Sayward of East Burnham, and several grandchildren. Interment was in the cemetery at Winnecook.
