LOCKE MILLS—Orlando E. Jordan, 68, died unexpectedly at his home here, Sunday morning.
He was born in the Bird Hill section of Bethel, March 8, 1903, the son of Charles and Ella Thomas Jordan. He was educated in Greenwood schools and married the former Gladys Dunham, Dec. 16, 1922. Mr. Jordan was employed here at Ekco Wood Products Co. for 50 years. At the time of his retirement in June of 1970 he was "set up and lead man" in he Knife Holster Dept. He was a member of the Locke Mills Union Church and was presently serving as a trustee of the church. He was also a member of the Locke Mills Men's Club.
Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Brown and Mrs. Beatrice Buck, both of Bethel; three sons, Orlando Richard of Wilton, Reynold of Cumberland Center and Arnold of Locke Mills; two sistes, Mrs. Edna Moxcey, East Waterford, and Mrs. Bertha Flanders, Locke Mills; two brothers, Ansel and Leroy, both of Locke Mills; and 13 grandchildren.DIEDAt Locke Mills, December 19, 1971, Orlando E. Jordan age 68. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Locke Mills Union Church, Pastor Beatrice Burris, officiating. Burial at Mt. Abram Cemetery. Visiting hours at the I. W. Andrews & Son Funeral Home, South Woodstock Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may donate to the Orlando Jordan Steeple Lighting Memorial Fund c/o Mrs. Rowena Dunham, Locke Mills.
