Does anyone have access to the town records to see if there were any land sales for Joseph Inman and Lettice Holmes? I have a feeling they sold their property and may have left with their children to go to Ohio at this time.

The records you need would be held at the Penobscot County Registry of Deeds. Unfortunately, their online indexes only go back to 1900. Since you're located in Michigan, your best bet might be to find someone in the Bangor area willing to go to the registry and check the indexes of that period for your Inmans.
