Hi Glen,

I just saw the note on the Penobscot Tombstone Project about Lydia Winslow being John's wife. Could there be a daughter named Lydia born to Elijah and Eliza on 5 Aug 1772 and another Lydia born in 1780 who married their son, John?

I've been struggling with the Maine indexing project. I think that my ancestor was another daughter of Elijah and Eliza named Marcy. It's becoming quite confusing as the records list two children born on 14 Mar 1775 --
Marcy and Nancy but I can't find any record of twins. Any ideas?

I find Mercy Winslow married to Jeremiah Clough of Freeport on 14 Apr 1791 and for the births of all their children the spelling of her name is chanced to Marcey. For the children of Elijah Winslow and Eliza, I find Nancy and Marcy both with the 14 Mar 1775 birth date as well as their other children. I'll look around and see what I can find about Nancy. I suspect there was just one child and the transcriber was dealing with a record that was difficult to read.

Bad sentence. It sounds like I found all of Elihah and Eliza'z children with the same birthday. Not the case.
